The CGO presented by Babolat also offers social events, including a Draw Party (players meet and greet) on the Friday evening, a banquet on the Sunday evening, and a post-banquet get-together. Please go to Events for more info.

Charities

In addition to the competition and the social aspects of the CGO presented by Babolat, we also have a philanthropic component. Since 1995, the CGO presented by Babolat has been giving back to the community and supporting local charities with donations over $35,000.

The beneficiary of our fundraising efforts this year will be announced soon. We thank our sponsors who provide raffle prizes, our volunteers who sell raffle tickets, and especially our tournament participants for their generosity and support; who make our fundraising efforts successful.

In 2023, we raised $2,500 for Rainbow Railroad. It is a global not-for-profit organization that helps LGBTBQI+ people facing persecution based on their sexual orientation, gender identity and sex characteristics. From 2017 to 2019 and 2022-2023, we have raised and donated over $9,000 to the AIDS Committee of Toronto (ACT). ACT works to reduce new HIV infections in Toronto and promotes the independence, dignity, health and well-being of people living with HIV and AIDS.

From 2013 to 2016, we have raised and donated over $8,000 to the Doug Philpott Inner City Children’s Tennis Fund. It is Canada’s only charity dedicated to children and tennis. Every $25 raised enables the organization to offer a week of free tennis lessons to a child. Our donations have provided a tennis camp experience for almost 320 children.

Previous charity beneficiaries also include Hearing Every Youth through Youth (HEYY), the Lesbian Gay Bi Trans Youth Line and the Canadian Lesbian and Gay Archives (CLGA).
